About me
and my passion
So you’re checking my About page so I’m guessing I should introduce myself.
Hello! My name is David Sopas and live and work in Portugal.
Many years ago I found out that security was the path that would make me happy and would create opportunities to learn every single day so… I’m a security researcher.
I lead a team of amazing and talented researchers at Checkmarx and at the same time I manage my security company – Char49.
Part of my work has been already presented in security conferences like Defcon, hack.lu, BSides Lisbon, OWASP AppSec EU and many others.
Some of the research created a media buzz and were published in Techcrunch, Softpedia, TheRegister, SecurityWeek, ThreatPost, you name it.
I have no plans on writting a book (yet) but some of my work was referenced in four books – Bug Bounty Hunting Essentials: Quick-paced guide to help white-hat hackers, Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing Guide, Web Hacking 101 and Real-World Bug Hunting.
If you want to know more about what I do professionaly just follow my Twitter account.
Also if we have the chance to meet, just approach me and say Hi!
Cheers!
David Sopas
